Contract Negotiations: COIPA negotiates with commercial managed care plans interested in developing a panel in the COIPA service area. COIPA negotiates at-risk managed care contracts only, on behalf of COIPA members. COIPA negotiates healthcare budgets and reimbursement rates based on RBRVS conversion factors using a medical services budget model.

Credentialing: COIPA has full delegated credentialing status through our contracts with PacificSource Health Plans for their commercial managed care plan (Healthy Kids Connect), Medicare (HMO/PPO) and Medicaid (Community Solutions) plans. Additionally, COIPA has full delegated credentialing status with the following health plans: PacificSource Preferred,Health Net, Health Management Network (HMN), Providence and Moda Health. COIPA performs all credentialing functions and peer review processes in-house according to NCQA standards. The COIPA Credentialing Committee provides peer review for the credentialing functions. COIPA members submit a single credentialing application to COIPA for all COIPA contracted health plans and participating regional hospitals. COIPA is also a Credentials Verification Organization (CVO) and performs all credentialing functions (minus the peer review process) in-house according to CMS, NCQA and Joint Commission standards, as required by each organization. Upon completion of the credentialing process, COIPA forwards the necessary documentation to the health plans and CVO Clients, as appropriate.

Member Directory: The association provides a current directory of all COIPA providers, by specialty, which is available to its members for their use.

COIPA Sponsored Seminars: COIPA sponsors seminars and workshops to help facilitate additional education for practitioners and their office staff. Subjects covered include coding, compliance, workplace legal issues, financial management, and practice management.

Malpractice Insurance: The Doctors Company provides a 5% discount on COIPA member malpractice coverage.

Online Healthcare Education: BridgeFront, an online education resource for healthcare professionals, provides COIPA members with discounted education opportunities on a variety of topics addressing compliance, HIPAA training, coding and clinical areas.

Compliance Review and Coding Services: Reimbursement Management Consultants, Inc. provide COIPA members discounted coding support services, compliance reviews and educational in-services.

Legal Services: Bend-based law firm Karnopp Petersen offers discounted legal counsel services for workplace issues, contracts, HIPAA, succession planning and more.

Human Resource / Payroll Management Services: COIPA has negotiated a 10% price reduction for all COIPA members with Great Northern Staff Administrators (GNSA). GNSA specializes in providing payroll / human resource management systems, including time and attendance, to the medical community.

Technology Support Services: LightPoint (formerly Peer Technologies) helps offices acquire and install new software, servers, PCs, or network components to prepare for EHR/EMP installation or to meet meaningful use requirements.  COIPA members receive a 15% discount on LightPoint services provided.

Lodging Discounts: Shilo Inns Suites Hotels offers COIPA members discounted rates, starting at $65 per night, on all of their locations.

Management Services Organization (MSO): COIPA has developed contracts and discounted pricing for medical and general office supplies through Amerinet. COIPA members receive discounts ranging from 3% to 23% on products ordered through these vendors.

Banking Incentives: COIPA has collaborated with Bank of the Cascades to provide incentives for members, such as increased savings rates and specialized loan programs.

Group Purchasing Discounts: COIPA has negotiated group discounts through Verizon Wireless, Staples and EasyPay online credit card processing.
